Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

ArcBunny distributes advance review copies (ARCs) of books, watermarking every copy to the individual reader who receives it. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.

Reader data

When you apply for an ARC, we collect your name, your email address, and your answers to the author's application questions (for example, where you plan to post your review). We use this to personalize the watermark embedded in your copy and to deliver your download link. As stated on the application form:

By applying, you understand your name and email will be embedded in the file you receive, for the author's use in identifying any leaks.

When you download your copy we also record the IP address and browser/device information used, and we may log your IP address when you apply to prevent spam and abuse. We keep this technical data as a legitimate interest in the security of the service and in tracing the unauthorized redistribution of a leaked copy.

The lawful basis for processing your name, email, and application answers is your consent, given at the time you apply. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for their own purposes; we rely only on service providers (hosting, database, email delivery, and bot protection) that process it on our behalf to operate the ARC you applied for.

Author data (Google sign-in)

Authors create an account by email magic link or by signing in with Google. When you sign in with Google, we receive — through Google OAuth — your name, email address, and basic profile information, and we use this data only to create and authenticate your ArcBunny account. We do not request or access any other Google data (no Gmail, Drive, Contacts, Calendar, or similar), and we do not sell or share Google user data. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Payment and billing data

When you purchase an ArcBunny plan, your payment is processed by Dodo Payments, our authorized reseller and Merchant of Record. Dodo Payments collects and processes your billing information — such as your name, email, billing address, and payment details — under its own privacy policy. ArcBunny does not receive or store your full card details; we retain only what we need to activate your plan and manage your account, such as a customer identifier and your credit balance and free-launch status.

Cover images and uploaded content

Author-supplied cover art is served from a public storage bucket so that ARC landing pages can display it. Manuscripts are stored privately and are only ever delivered as per-reader watermarked copies to approved readers.

Data retention

We retain your name and email for as long as necessary to operate the ARC you applied for. Each copy we deliver carries an embedded watermark tied to the copy issued to you, so that a leaked or redistributed file can be traced back to its source — we do this as a legitimate interest in protecting authors against unauthorized redistribution. You can ask us to delete your personal data at any time (see below).

Your choices and data-subject requests

You may request access to, or deletion of, your personal data at any time by emailing hello@arcbunny.com. On a deletion request we remove your name and email from our records and expire any outstanding download links issued to you. Copies already delivered to you carry an embedded watermark and cannot be recalled.
